IN GREEN PASTURES – HELP FROM AN UNEXPECTED QUARTER

Here’s some great news that came my way this week: unbeknown to me, my financial advisor had bought a copy of In Green Pastures. His response was beyond my wildest expectations. ‘Absolutely superb and brilliantly written’, he said in the fan letter he subsequently wrote to me. ‘I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish and for me it was up there with my favourites.

I was (naturally) bowled over by such fulsome praise – those words went straight to my head. But that was not all. He was so enthusiastic about IGP, that he’d ordered a huge number of copies to mail out to his other clients. So thrilling! Spreading the word about a newly-published book – especially a debut one – is all about gaining critical mass. Not so easy when the country’s in Lockdown and all the bookshops are closed. No hope of book-signings or talks to book group (if only!)  This was a real boost and I’m just praying now that they all love it as much as Henry and with tell all their friends about it.
